DePaul Community Resources announces that Michael Norton joined the executive team on December 1st as DePaul’s Chief Financial Officer; Mike will supply our entire organization with forward-looking, strategic leadership and will oversee our financial affairs. He will entrust the day-to-day accounting operations to our Director of Finance, Jennifer Smythers, and her capable team while he focuses on big-picture, system-wide opportunities and organizational growth.
Mike comes to us from TAP (Total Action for Progress), a Roanoke-based nonprofit organization. Prior to his work at TAP, he was a long-time partner at Dixon Hughes Goodman, one of the top 20 public accounting firms in the country. Mike’s impressive history in the finance world has included high-level decision-making and consulting with healthcare and nonprofit organizations where he accrued expert-level knowledge of our sector and the challenges and opportunities we face. “I’m excited to bring my experience and skills to DePaul,” says Mike, “DePaul’s mission is full of possibility and I’m ready to see where we can go together.” Mike’s values, outlook, orientation to the work, and passions are well-aligned with ours.
