Counseling Services

When children and families find themselves at a crossroads where clinical services are necessary to heal and move forward as a family unit, DePaul’s community-based Counseling Services are there to guide the way.

Welcome! Thank you for your interest in DePaul’s Community-Based Services program, which offers counseling and support services.

Evidence shows that individuals and families who receive counseling while also being able to maintain connections to their community—including family members, friends, schools, and churches—are far more likely to experience lasting success. We understand the importance of developing and strengthening these connections, and as a result, our counseling program was established to provide a variety of services to adults, families, adolescents, and children all in the least restrictive environment possible—their own homes and communities!

Our counseling services are available to anyone in the community, as well as to those in DePaul’s Foster Care, Adoption, Developmental Disabilities, or Independent Living programs. Our diverse staff members offer a variety of counseling styles, interventions, and support to help meet the needs and foster feelings of hope and belonging in every individual we serve. Our providers include Licensed and Licensed-eligible Professional Counselors and Clinical Social Workers, as well as Certified Substance Abuse Counselors and Qualified Mental Health Professionals, with many having additional specialized training in the use of CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, and Play Therapy.
