As part of a master partnership agreement, DePaul Community Resources received a $25,000 gift from Carilion Clinic—the largest single donation ever made to the organization in its 38-year history. In addition to supporting DePaul’s mission of hope and belonging for individuals with unique challenges, the gift will be used to underwrite expenses for DePaul events in 2016, including the DePaul Leadership Conference to be held May 5 and the annual Women of Achievement event on October 4.
Carilion’s support was instrumental in developing the 2016 DePaul Leadership Conference on ethical decision making, which is the first in a series of leadership forums designed to provide families, social service providers, and business professionals with innovative tools and techniques for addressing ethical challenges related to the health and well-being of our community.
“As a healthcare organization, our mission is to improve the health of the communities we serve,” said Melina Perdue, Vice President of Carilion Clinic. “While the nature of the services provided by Carilion and DePaul may differ, we share this common goal. Like Carilion, DePaul seeks to create a healthier, more stable environment for those it serves—from providing foster and adoptive homes for children to working with special needs individuals to improve their quality of life. Carilion’s connection to DePaul is real and heartfelt, and we are honored to join with DePaul in this shared mission.”
Amanda Stanley, President and CEO of DePaul, stated, “Partnering with the region’s healthcare leader is an exciting opportunity for DePaul as together, our organizations are building capacity to better meet the needs of the individuals and communities we serve. We are grateful for Carilion Clinic’s generous contribution—with their support, we look forward to making hope and belonging a reality for Virginians who can’t imagine it today.”
