Marketing Coordinator/Grant Writer – Roanoke
Full time individual needed for our Roanoke office working in the Marketing and Grant Writing department.  Bachelor or Associates degree in Marketing, English/Journalism or Communications preferred.  Experience with non-profit fundraising preferred.  Strong writing and editing skills, proven experience with Microsoft office suite, detail oriented.  Must work well under pressure. 

Mentor – Charlottesville
Part-time mentor needed in the Charlottesville area to provide one-on-one support services to children and teens working to stabilize problematic behaviors and to help improve targeted behaviors. Duties include teaching self-care skills, social skills, enhancing self-esteem, academic tutoring and providing therapeutic recreational activities to youth with emotional and behavioral disabilities. Applicants must be available afternoons, evenings and some weekend hours. A degree in Social Work, Psychology or Education is preferred. Applicants working on a degree or applicants with relevant experience will also be considered. Some travel is required.

Day Support Mentor – Roanoke
Individuals needed part-time to work with adults with developmental disabilities in our Day Support Program in Roanoke. Interested individuals must be patient, caring and responsible. Mentors provide supervision, training, recreational & social activities and personal care to adults with developmental disabilities. Applicants must have a minimum of a H.S. diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of training/education and/or experience. Experience supporting people who have developmental disabilities and college course work is preferred. Applicants must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. A valid driver’s license and good driving record is required.

Director of Adult Foster Care Residential Services – Lynchburg
Seeking an individual for a full-time position in the Lynchburg area working in our Developmental Disabilities Program serving adults in foster care. Will provide leadership and oversight to Adult Foster Care Supervisors to ensure quality programming. Master’s degree in Human Service field.  Bachelors with comparable experience. Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in Developmental Disabilities field.  Strong preference for Medicaid Waiver/DBHDS experience. Must have excellent oral and written skills. Flexible work schedule is required at times. Travel to other offices is required at times. 

Foster Care Specialist (Social Worker) – Cedar Bluff
Full-time position available working in the Cedar Bluff office in our Foster Care Program. Bachelor’s degree in Human Services field required.  Experience in foster care and an M.S.W. or other related master’s degree in Human Services is preferred. Responsibilities include providing intensive casework services to children and adolescents with behavioral, emotional and/or medical disabilities, and with parents hoping to be reunified with their children who are in foster care.  The ability to work effectively with foster parents, birth families and other community professionals is essential.

Seeking a qualified professional to lead the Treatment Foster Care program in our Danville office. Primary responsibilities include supervision of social work staff, recruitment and home studies on prospective foster parents, training and case management. Previous supervisory experience, foster care experience and an M.S.W. or other related Master’s degree is preferred. The ability to provide effective supervision to casework staff who are working directly with children and adolescents, including those with behavioral, emotional and/or medical disabilities is necessary. Working effectively with foster parents, birth families and other community professionals is essential.

Foster Care Recruiter/Home Finder – Danville
Full-time position available working in the Danville office in our Foster Care Program. Primary responsibilities will be to design and implement a recruitment plan for foster/ adoptive homes and to meet with community organizations and groups to present information regarding the need for appropriate homes. This person will also be completing home studies on families who are interested in fostering and/or adopting as well as assisting with training prospective foster/adoptive families.  Some travel is required and work may be performed outside of regular business hours. Must possess strong writing, word processing and communication skills. Must be creative, energetic, committed to the mission and demonstrate good marketing and public relations skills. A Bachelor’s degree in a human services field is required, experience in providing services to children and families preferred

 

 

Outside Opportunities
Adult foster care parent in the Lynchburg area, is looking for a male to provide relief for up to 16 hours a week for an adult male with autism and intellectual disability. Hours are flexible. Individual must have experience in working with this population. Also, be in good physical condition, able to take the individual into the community for recreation, attend training, provide personal care and pass back ground checks. Once training and background checks are completed. The relief provider will receive $100.00 for their training time plus be reimbursed for the cost of background checks. Hourly pay: $10.00.
